Sailsafe is the practical result of over 10 years of sailing and chartering, built on our passion for boats and the sea, to achieve Local Knowledge, the knowledge of the service we offer. We decided to create a comprehensive protocol that follows the sailor in all steps of the cruise, from the choice to the check out, going through every step of the process. Sailsafe means that we or our skippers tested a specific boat, sailed a route, reviewed a contract, tested a procedure for check-in, a popular restaurant, find safe shelter in a cove, used a specific site for the weather and tested any kind of advice before proceeding offering it to our guests. Our first aim is safety in all his forms.
Safety at sea
Sailsafe is the essentially based upon the knowledge of the vessels, the ship owners and the itineraries. While other search engines and agencies allow every owner, whether it is an excellent professional or an inconclusive pirate, to put the boats on a given database (YachtBooker as, for example), our over 500 boats belong to owners that we have known personally, and wehave worked with, for years with mutual trust and satisfaction. It's a process that began in 1999 and which continues and is renewed at each season.
Then there are the routes: from the Caribbean to Alaska, from Patagonia to Turkey, there is no itinerary that is not the result of direct experience, local knowledge, of one of our skippers. In case of difficulty you can call at any moment - we can advise on a safeharbor or a bay of outstanding beauty.
Regarding the navigation and safety, the members of SailingtheWeb totaled nearly 100,000 miles of sea in every ocean, from Porto Venere to Cape Horn, from San Francisco to Phuket. We have personally drafted the manuals on the preparation of the cruise, on the safety of navigation and tricks with the weather. Certainly there are many publications on the market for each of these topics, but our intention is to give everyone those basic concepts and those tips which can quickly help a skipper or a crew member during in normal charter boat operations.

Every nation has its standard contracts, but not always sufficient to ensure validity in other countries.
